Clover by Susan Entwistle.
Clover has very small, fragrant flowers. These are crowded into dense, nearly spherical heads, or spikes and can be white, pink, red, or yellow. It is the main nectar source for honeybees and is crucial to keeping the species alive. Celtic Priests and Druids carried the shamrock, a three-leaf clover, to see when evil spirits approached. Four-leaved clovers were Celtic charms to ward off bad luck and offered protection to the carrier. This beautiful landscape by contemporary artist Susan Entwistle captures a field of wild clover in full bloom at sunset.
