Contemporary abstract painting can take many different forms, from large-scale, gestural paintings that emphasize the physical act of painting to more minimal, geometric works that focus on color and shape.  International contemporary artist Nick Munier constantly experiments with materials, using unconventional methods such as spatulas or window blades instead of brushes.
