This painting by Irish artist Maria Dowling features the Rose Garden in Tralee Town Park, Co. Kerry.  On summer evenings in the park, the air is full with the fragrance of roses.  (one of the most extensive collections in Ireland)  St John's Church which overlooks the Rose Garden is in the background of the painting.  Roses are synonymous with Tralee both due to the song The Rose of Tralee and the international festival of the same name which takes place each August in Tralee, Co. Kerry
