Maria Dowling

Maria Dowling is an award winning Irish Artist from Fermoy, Co. Cork.  However her grandfather was born and  brought up in Courtown, Co. Wexford.  As a child Maria spent much time in Wexford and she has great love and affection for the area.  This is most evident in her beautiful original artworks of the beaches and landscapes of North Wexford.  These include Ballymoney, Cahore Old Bawn and Morriscastle Beaches.  “Contemporary harmoniously colourful , figurative atmospheric oil paintings with a timeless quality”

Maria works in oil, acrylic and pastel. Her objective is to capture the transigence of nature, to catch the energy of a moment through the process of laying down paint.

This painting process uses light, colour, texture and design to embue the work with beauty and excitement. In January 2019 a work by Maria  was commissioned through The Gaslamp Gallery which was presented to  President Michael D. Higgins featuring Aras an Uachtarain and his beloved Bernese Mountain dogs Siod and Broda.
