Jake Winkle

Born in 1964 Jake Winkle did a foundation course at Bournemouth College of Art in 1984, before going on to study Expressive Arts.  Graduating in 1987, and after a spell in industry, he became a full time artist and began to focus on watercolour painting.

Jake practices watercolour at its most direct and uncluttered. He is inspired by colour and movement   It is a reflection of the world around him.  In addition, Jake is well known for his watercolours of racing subjects.

He paints subjects from overseas and also nearer to his home. His enthusiasm for watercolour painting is infectious and inspired. Jake constantly searches for new and exciting ways to render his subject, direct and uncluttered – with passion and energy!
