Mani says her paintings are often inspired by day to day sights on the school run. She captures charming buildings, quirky characters and chance encounters. Present in all of her work is the joy she finds in it all, "I love nature, I love a beautiful pair of spotty wellingtons or a stripy scarf. I hope that my work illustrates the loveliness that I see in the world". Her naive style covers all the seasons in all their magic. She is wistful for winter, though celebrates summer. The charm of her work is in her ability to pick out details in the world around us; where the world marches on, this artist stops to notice.
